Install

A deployment is two sites and a witness: three raft voters in three failure domains, so that one can be lost and the other two still decide. Each site runs qfence-orchestrator, which serves the API and the console and calls the site’s controllers. The witness runs qfence-witness, which only votes.

• Two sites and a witness installs the whole topology by hand, step by step, from building the binaries to a first failover. Start here.
• The orchestrator and the witness cover each part: their files, their Ansible roles and Terraform modules, rotating the cluster keyring, monitoring the witness, and adding a voter to a running cluster.
• Terraform makes the VMs on Proxmox VE or AWS and installs qfence on them.
• The labs run qfence on one machine, for trying it out and for testing it.
